A Seat at the Table, Secured

Zuryna Livermore: Welcome to
Operations Unfiltered, the podcast

that takes you behind the scenes of
influencer and talent management.

I'm your host and your favorite marketing
project manager, girl Eza Arena, and

I just wanted to come on with a quick.

Impromptu episode, some housekeeping.

I have a few updates to share with
you all, and honestly, if you've been

following my journey to nonprofit board
service on the Operations Unfiltered

podcast, specifically my a Seat at the
Table episodes, then you'll know that I

completed my program with the Associated
Black Charities here in Baltimore.

And my goal in completing
this program was.

Truly to serve with an organization
whose mission and vision

align with my personal goals.

You guys know I'm really into
things that impact mental health,

black maternal health rate,
, underrepresented populations.

I really want to focus on those areas.

And I'm happy to say that I
can cross another professional

milestone off of my list.

I'm so excited to join the executive
advisory board of the patients

program housed at the University
of Maryland School of Pharmacy.

It's truly a full circle moment for
me because I actually interned at the

University of Maryland Medical Center.

While I was in college, go Mustangs.

And so being able to be part of this
amazing organization that truly is

helping underrepresented communities
and to bridge the gap of, hopefully

lessen the inequities that are happening
in scientific research through those

candid conversations with the community.

And we really want to explore
what that community needs.

, I'm so excited to join this
executive advisory committee.

I'm excited to help spearhead
some communication changes and to

really help them meet their goal.

I know we're going national this year.

That's the initiative to take the
program, the model that they have,

curated at the university, at the patients
program, and the goal is to go national.

So I'm really excited to
be part of that journey.

But more than anything, I'm really
excited to finally cross this

professional milestone off of my list.

This has actually been
a dream of mine since.

I graduated college.

So I just wanna give some
encouragement to anyone, anyone

who might be doubting themselves,
moms who are really in mom mode.

Really pour into yourself
and go for your dreams.

Do what you can to make them happen.

Because you know, I never
imagined that this would be

where I would be at right now.

Um, but I know that deep in my heart
of hearts, I really wanna help.

I really want to.

Be a voice.

Um, my lived experiences both
with obesity, being a black mom

who's experienced, giving birth
to a child, these are things

that I really want to help.

I.

With, so, I'm so excited
to start this journey.

If you have served on a nonprofit board
and you have any advice, any tips, tricks,

best practices, please let me know.

I'm excited and I will definitely
keep you guys posted on this journey.
